  • What I Do

I am president of a global business focused on partnering with clients clients to efficiently and effectively collect, store, move, and treat water and wastewater, plan and manage watersheds, harness the energy embedded in the treatment and movement of water, and enhance sustainability.

  • Why Engineering?

I had a deep interest in environmental preservation and found civil engineering as a promising career to make a difference in sustaining healthy environments.

  • School Days

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Kansas State University, 1985
Masters of Science, Environmental Health Engineering, University of Kansas, 1990

  • My Day At Work

The daily activities have changed over the years, but my priority is working with clients to understand their challenges and create solutions. This is through conference participation, workshops, 1:1 meetings and team meetings.

  • Best Part

Working on diverse teams to solve our clients project challenges. A team environment always creates better ideas and ultimately more creative solutions.

  • Proud Moments

Design of the first large scale, zero discharge wastewater reclamation plant. It took years of research, planning, permitting and design. A few years ago, the client invited me to speak at the 20th anniversary celebration to acknowledge the innovation brought to the project.

  • Challenges

Being the only or one of few female engineers on teams created challenges and opportunities. Women bring different perspectives and it was critical to create a communication style that allowed me to be heard, respected and a desirable team member.

Raising 3 children in combination with an active career with a lot of travel was quite challenging at times. I am lucky to have a highly supportive husband that allowed me to find my unique work life blend.

  • My Family

I have been married for 32 years to a Civil Engineer. We have three beautiful children: two boys and a girl. Our oldest, Austin, is 28 and is a Civil Engineer. Our other two children are twins and 25 years old. Madison is a Civil Engineer. and soon to be married to a fine gentleman serving in the Air Force. Jackson is a Mechanical Engineer. We are a very close family and love to vacation together. I am very blessed.

  • Hobbies

Hiking, reading both fiction and non-fiction.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • I am willing to be contacted by educators for possible speaking engagements in schools or in after school programs or summer camps.
  • I am willing to host a field trip to my place of employment.
  • I am willing to be interviewed by interested students via email.
